Original Prusa MK4S Reliable High-Speed Workhorse

Loadcell-first layers, input shaping, and high-flow cooling give you print-and-go reliability from PLA through PC—without constant tinkering.

Key innovation: Loadcell-assisted mesh leveling plus 360° cooling and a CHT-style nozzle maintain first-layer consistency while pushing higher flow rates.

Engineered for Dependable Output

The MK4S keeps jobs on track with a rigid i3 frame, quiet 0.9° steppers, and a 32-bit xBuddy board tuned for input shaping and pressure advance. A magnetic PEI bed swaps fast between smooth and textured finishes, while the Nextruder’s direct drive handles flexibles cleanly.

  • Build volume: 250 × 210 × 220 mm; PEI spring steel bed to 120°C.
  • Hotend: All-metal up to 290°C; CHT-style 0.4 mm nozzle for higher volumetric flow.
  • Connectivity: Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, USB-C with PrusaLink/PrusaConnect remote monitoring.
  • Ready for MMU3 (5-filament) to add multi-colour and soluble supports.

Why Choose It

Pick the MK4S when uptime, first-layer accuracy, and predictable profiles matter more than flashy speeds. Need enclosed ABS/PC capability? Step up to the Prusa Core One. Planning larger multi-material parts? Consider the Original Prusa XL or its 5-head upgrade path.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kit or assembled?

Both available. Kit offers learning value; assembled arrives calibrated for faster deployment.

Does it handle flexibles?

Yes—direct drive and short filament path suit TPU. Slow to moderate speeds improve consistency.

Can I add multi-material?

Yes, add the MMU3 for up to five filaments (colour or soluble supports) using tuned Prusa profiles.
